Washington, DC – American Life League president Judie Brown issued the following statement in response to news that, in its ruling on the Sherley v. Sebelius case, the District Court for the District of Columbia issued a preliminary injunction against the Obama administration’s approval of human embryonic stem cell research while also upholding the flawed Dickey-Wicker Amendment.
“Judge Royce Lamberth’s decision has confirmed the fundamental American principle of seeking equal protection under the law for all – no matter how young, vulnerable or marginalized.
“Despite the Obama administration’s rabid and unscientific fixation on destroying human persons for ‘research,’ it is simply common sense that a government committed to protecting human rights for all human beings should not sanction ripping apart some human beings to use their parts for the supposed benefit of other human beings.
“We must never forget, while caught in the weeds of politics and intellectual debate, that human embryonic stem cell research is the deliberate and utilitarian dismemberment and dissection of individual human beings. It is the ultimate mark of a barbaric society, and it has no place beside the noble ideals to which our country is dedicated.”
American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death. THE TYRANNY OF ‘IT’: NEW A.L.L. REPORT TRACES TACTICS USED TO DENY HUMAN PERSONHOOD

Washington, DC – American Life League’s latest ALL Report, 'The Fatal Formula' looks at the arguments used by opponents of the movement to legally recognize the personhood of all human beings. Colorado’s groundbreaking Amendment 62 campaign is one such effort.
Throughout history, the same formula has been used repeatedly to justify abuses and even atrocities against various oppressed groups, the video explains.
“Nowhere is it clearer than in Colorado that today’s pro-life movement is the exact same movement Martin Luther King Jr. gave his life for,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. “Preborn children, blacks, whites, Jews, gentiles, poor and rich alike are human persons equal in dignity with a fundamental right to equal protection under the law.”
Colorado’s proposed Amendment 62 would simply define the word “person” in the Colorado Constitution as meaning all human beings from the beginning of their biological development. Opponents argue that human beings in the womb are less than persons and do not deserve constitutional rights.
Using examples from the 1986 film “The Mission” and a “white paper” published by Planned Parenthood, ALL’s Michael Hichborn presents a compelling illustration of “the fatal formula” used to justify the denial of rights and eventual murder of human beings in the womb. “Statement of non-humanity, non-personhood + supporting excuses = underlying agenda,” he explains. “[Making] excuses for denying the humanity or personhood of individual human beings is done for one reason... It’s the only way to create a class of humans without any rights.”
Hichborn emphasizes, “The only reason anyone argues against an individual’s personhood or humanity is to deny those individuals their human rights so they can treat them however they like.”
“Recognizing human personhood isn’t about debating when or where or how some humans are persons and others aren’t,” he said. “It’s about human rights and dignity.”
Under the banner of “Persons, not property,” the Amendment 62 campaign seeks to end this cycle of dehumanization.

DIAL “M” FOR MURDER
America's Independent Party of Iowa
Tom Shaw
Candidate for Iowa House District 8
Russian novelist Feodor Dostoyevsky once said: “If there is no God,
everything is permitted.” I can very easily glean the truth from his
words when it comes to the practice of telemedicine abortions. There can
be no God in the lives of those who deliberately seek to murder innocent
life in the womb, and now this pre-natal murder by phone means everything
is permitted.
Iowa has the positive distinction as “First in the Nation” when it comes
to our presidential caucuses, but now we get the dubious distinction as
“First in the Nation” regarding telemedicine abortions. The nation
closely watches our presidential caucuses, and so does the nation
concerning this controversial procedure. Vicki Saporta, president of the
National Abortion Federation, commented in the New York Times: “… such
providers are watching Iowa with keen interest.”
The telemedicine abortion procedure is performed via a videoconference in
which a remotely located doctor prescribes the medicine mifepristone
(RU-486) to the patient. After ensuring that the patient is ready, the
doctor clicks on a mouse, which opens a drawer containing the abortion
pills. This option is available to women up to nine weeks in their
pregnancy. This procedure has already claimed over 1,500 innocent lives
in the last two years.
It comes to no surprise to me that Planned Parenthood of the Heartland and
other abortion advocates tout how “safe” these procedures are. Along with
the American Medical Association, their concept of safety only applies to
one patient, the woman. There is absolutely no regard for the second
patient, the innocent life within the womb.
I urge each of you to contact the Iowa Board of Medicine and let them know
that you oppose this procedure!
The Committee to Elect Tom Shaw, 341 S 1st St, Laurens, IA 50554.
