Not long ago someone asked me: “Are you a Republican or a Democrat?” My response? “Neither. I’m an American.”
So, what is an American?
First, a true American believes in God, understanding that our rights are the free gift of the One Who created us, that they didn't come from any man, and that those precious rights are therefore unalienable.
Second, an American believes that every person has equal standing before God. He doesn’t think he is better than anyone else, and he doesn’t believe anyone else is better than him. He knows that, by nature or circumstance, we have differing gifts, abilities, opportunities, and stations in life, but that we all possess the same intrinsic rights to life, liberty, private property, and equal justice.
Third, an American knows what government is for: To protect the God-given rights of each and every individual person, and to secure the nation as a whole.
Fourth, an American understands that the only just government is that which receives its legitimacy from the consent of the governed. He knows that in America, as the state motto of South Dakota asserts, “the people are sovereign under God.”
Of course, this was spelled out much more eloquently than I could ever express by Thomas Jefferson and his contemporaries in the founding paragraph of this country in our nation’s charter, the Declaration of Independence:
The state motto of Virginia remains “SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS,” or “thus ever to tyrants.”
A song little known today, but very popular during the Revolutionary War - at the time, in fact, considered to be our unofficial national anthem - was a song called “Chester”. Here are the lyrics:
The Barbary Pirates terrorized our shipping. So the Americans, with God's help, whipped them.
The British soon forgot the whipping they had received and came back for more, so the Americans, with God's help, whipped them again.
With God's help, we whipped the Mexicans. We whipped the Spaniards. We whipped each other (the bloodiest and costliest whipping of all). We whipped the Germans and the Italians, and then when over the course of a couple of decades they forgot, we whipped them again. We whipped the Japanese. We whipped the Communist North Koreans and North Vietnamese, no matter what the revisionists would have you believe. We whipped the Soviets. We whipped the Islamists. We hung Saddam Hussein.
That’s what Americans do. We trust God, and we crush tyrants.
Why? Because we have a heart for the tyrant’s victims. We love liberty. Americans have always been willing to risk it all to protect this country and its people, and to stand boldly and courageously for what is right.
Do we still face serious external threats? Yes, we most certainly do. The world never lacks for tyrants.
Is that the biggest threat to the existence of the United States of America in liberty? No. The real peril lies within, the danger that we will finally and completely quit trusting God and thereby lose our collective grip on what it means to be an American.

They love what is right and just. They rail at tyranny, cruelty, and injustice.

Is your true American heart outraged that thousands more defenseless little American children were slaughtered today in Planned Parenthood’s bloody houses of barbarism, where tens of millions have already been cruelly killed?
Are you disgusted that the political and legal elites call this slaughter “legal,” and continue to deny the humanity of those little persons?
Are you indignant that the clear imperative words of our Constitution, which strictly forbid the killing of any innocent person, are ignored?
Are you incensed that judges usurp the legislative mandate and execute lawless edicts from the bench, and that those who are in fact constitutionally empowered to make and execute the laws despise their sworn duty and allow them to get away with it?
Are you angry with those who redefine the word “marriage” and misuse the legal and political process to impose a deviant sexual practice on us and our children, one that the people have overwhelmingly rejected time and again?
Are you sick and tired of this government’s constant encroachments on our precious liberties, their incessant picking of our pockets, and their failure in their constitutional obligations to secure our states against invasion by the tens of millions of foreign nationals who continue to stream across our open borders?
Are you beyond patience or tolerance for those who are betraying our posterity for their own short-term political gain, sacrificing our future on the altar of their insane, utopian, socialist agenda?
I know I am.
It's time to turn back to God, not just in words, but in deeds. It's time for Americans to be Americans again. Tyrants, internal or external, petty or great, can only have their way when the people provide their silent, craven, cowardly consent. As Edmund Burke said:
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
Once again, the closing question of our national anthem is posed:
“O say does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?”
Only you can truly answer that eternal question, and the truth of it will be seen finally in what you do, not merely in what you say.

60 days! So much has been done in the last year and a half, and so much is left to do in the next 60 days!
In the first year and a half of Personhood USA's existence, 40 states organized to fight for the pre-born child.
Some states formed steering committees to begin promoting Personhood and grow their grassroots networks. Other states introduced Personhood measures in their state legislatures. Most notably, Montana and North Dakota were able to pass Personhood measures in one chamber of their state legislatures before succumbing in the other.
In Alaska, Nevada, and Missouri, the abortion industry used the courts to prevent us from getting even one signature. However, the tighter the grip of the tyrant, the stronger the resistance to tyranny. Activists in all three states are poised for the next battle.
In California, the indomitable Pastor Walter Hoye led California's first Personhood campaign, and gathered 600,000 signatures, and innumerable friends and allies for the next attempt.
Florida's Personhood Amendment continues to grow towards its 2012 ballot deadline. Personhood Florida is the largest pro-life organization on Twitter, boasting over 50,000 followers.
Mississippi's Personhood Amendment is officially on the ballot for 2011. To get on the ballot, volunteers in Mississippi broke signature records and have become one of only four amendments to make it on the ballot in the past 20 years.
This leaves Colorado. Not only is Colorado the last Personhood amendment still standing in 2010, but it is THE ONLY PRO-LIFE LAW ON THE 2010 BALLOT ANYWHERE IN THE NATION!
The eyes of the nation are upon Colorado. 2010 might very well be the perfect storm for a pro-life measure. [Alleged] President Obama's administration has run roughshod over the American people, and 2010 will give the people an opportunity to issue a message to liberals trying to take over our nation. The strongest message would be passing the Colorado Personhood Amendment, Amendment 62, in a state that voted to elect [Alleged] President Obama. Oh how the political winds have changed!
In Colorado, there is a 20% conservative swing underway. All major conservative candidates support the Amendment, and most importantly of all, the people are fired up.
In the past two months we have distributed 110,000 educational campaign brochures, 70,000 Personhood educational magazines, 30,000 educational bookmark flyers, 13,000 bumper stickers, 10,000 stickers, 5,000 buttons, and put up five billboards including one mobile billboard.
60 days! So much has been done all over the nation in the last year and a half, and so much is left to do in the next 60 days in Colorado.
We have collaborated with the Human Life Alliance to distribute 250,000 additional Personhood educational magazines specifically designed and tailored for Colorado's Amendment 62. You can see the magazine at HERE.
A network of pro-life missionaries and volunteers is activating over 1000 churches in Colorado to educate and motivate the pro-life faithful.
A state of the art website, www.MyCampaignTracker.org, is empowering individuals all across the state to manage the campaign in their own neighborhoods.
Our opposition, led by the duo of death - the ACLU and Planned Parenthood, has launched its campaign and has vowed to spend one million dollars to defeat our efforts.

The Passionate Pro-Lifer

At last week's No on 62 pep rally for death, the same usual suspects gathered on the west steps of the Colorado State Capitol to bemoan how "dangerous" and "deceptive" personhood for "fertilized eggs" will be.
New on the scene, however, was a woman introduced as the Reverend Dawn Riley Duval. It would seem that she has been recruited to rebut the claims of chilling parallels between slavery and abortion that Amendment 62 spokesman, Pastor Walter Hoye, has been making all over Colorful Colorado. As founder of the California Civil Rights Foundation, Hoye has a deep abiding faith and vested interest in educating his people about the radical, racist and eugenic history of Planned Parenthood.
So it was especially jarring to hear Ms Duval begin her rant with, "This is the day that the Lord has made." One doesn't anticipate hearing the name of Almighty God invoked at a pep rally for death.
Duval continued, "This deeply personal and painful moral decision is best left to a woman," said Rev. Dawn Riley Duval of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, "And her doctor and God!" she shouted to loud applause.
We must assume that this newest Planned Parenthood spokeswoman has not heard the statements of PP's founder, Margaret Sanger.
Of particular interest to the black community should be this disturbing message, ""We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population," she said, "if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."
Colorado Right to Life has a long history of sharing this kind of insidious racial profiling by the abortion industry. We brought Reverend Clenard Childress to address the Ministerial Alliance in 2006 and while his message largely fell on deaf ears, he planted seeds and so Pastor Hoye has been warmly received by several prominent Black churches in Denver.
Pastor Hoye will be speaking at a prayer rally at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church in Aurora on September 17, 2010 sharing his message of Persons not Property and Why we Can't Wait to legally protect everyone made in God's image.
We will be delivering the DVD Maafa 21 to Ms Duval's pastor, with the prayer that the message of how abortion is decimating the black race and carrying on the legacy of death and destruction of the slave master mentality, will be shared.
Should the church be receptive to learning why personhood is the key to equality of justice for all ~ born and unborn, we'd welcome Dawn's fiery passion to protect her people from those who have targeted them for extermination.

The last time we met we talked of the sinner loving the darkness instead of the Light of Jesus Christ; so much so that they hate Jesus. The sinner hates the Light of the Lord Jesus Christ in a way that allows him or her to sit contentedly in condemning ignorance.
But Bro Dave, that really doesn’t make sense; why would they choose darkness over light? Of course it makes sense! Why did you or do you choose darkness over light? Jesus clearly tells us why:
“For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.” (John 3:20)
Whether I am an unredeemed sinner or worse yet, a backslidden believer, I hate the light because of my evil deeds and I will do everything in my power from keeping them exposed. Warren Wiersbe explains it thusly:
“Why will sinners not come into the ‘light of life?’ Because they love the darkness! They want to persist in their evil deeds, and this keeps them from coming to the light; for the closer the sinner gets to the light, the more his sins are exposed. It is not ‘intellectual problems’ that keep people from trusting Christ; it is the moral and spiritual blindness that keeps them loving the darkness and hating the light.”
Loving evil more than good is a man-made problem; when Eve was tempted by the devil in the Garden and when Adam failed to play the man over Eve it was because they loved the look of evil. David not only battled against his own love of evil, but he also had to deal with others in such a manner. When David was betrayed by Doeg the Edomite he wrote these words:
“Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually. Your tongue devises destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah. You love all devouring words, you deceitful tongue.” (Psalm 52:1-4)
How does this work? Well, think about that one Christian friend you had or have whom you’ve not spoke with in ages because he or she reminds you of your rebelliousness. You don’t call or write because you know you are living in sin and you don’t want the reminder.
What reminder is that Bro Dave? The reminder of Jesus; not that your friend is Jesus but that he or she reminds you of Jesus the Light of the Word and you do not want that light shining in on your darkness.
Is that you?
Are you living a sinful life that causes you to avoid the light fearful of being exposed?
Perhaps you don’t know of this Light; oh, you’ve heard of it but you do not know it.
Whether you are a believer in rebellion or an unbeliever forever lost in your sin, won’t you come to the Light today?
Why live forever in darkness; no one truly loves the darkness. We all crave the Light so come into it today!
Tomorrow we will see the benefits of coming into that Light.

The question of the day: Why is making $250,000 a year suddenly considered wealthy? The Obama's made $5.5 million last year. Is that wealthy?
Contrary to popular belief, $250,000 in 2010 had the same buying power as $20,722 in 1926. Annual inflation over this period was 3.01%. An income of $250,000, adjusted for inflation, would have placed a taxpayer in an 11% tax bracket in 1926. In order to have been considered in the top tax bracket back then, in today's dollars, would have required taxable income in excess of $1,206,419. The 1926 tax tables are shown below along with equivalent 2010 dollar amounts:
So in inflation adjusted dollars, people like the Obama's would have been considered wealthy in the 1920's and should rightfully be in the top tax bracket today. On the other hand, folks making $50,000 to $250,000 today, would have been barely considered middle class back in 1926.
The Revenue Act of 1921 contained additional tax brackets above the $100,000 level to tax the super rich. They were as follows: $100,000 @ 56%, $150,000 @ 57%, $200,000 @ 58%, $300,000 @ 71%, $500,000 @ 72%, $1,000,000 @ 73%. Translating this into 2010 dollars would yield the following amounts, respectively: $1,113,139 @ 56%, $1,669,709 @ 57%, $2,226,278 @ 58%, $3,339,418 @ 71%, $5,565,696 @ 72%, and $11,131,392 @ 73%.
President Calvin Coolidge, under the Mellon Tax Bill, slashed top rates from 73% in 1921, down to 25% in 1926. The new top bracket was 25% for anyone making over $100,000 ($1,206,419 in 2010 dollars). So under the Revenue Act of 1921, the Obama's would have been forking over 72% of their income to Uncle Sam, but only 25% under Coolidge. What a relief that would have been. The "Roaring Twenties" had arrived, catapulting multitudes into the middle class.
Now let's bring it up to today. How did the lower tax brackets of 1926 grow from being between 1.4% and 14%, all the way to today's level of 10% to 33%? And let's not forget about the 7.65% (15.3% for the self-employed) that we all get soaked for in Social Security and Medicare taxes. Under the Social Security Act of 1935, the FICA tax was set at 1% of the first $1,400 in wages. It's interesting to note that $1,400 in 1935 is the equivalent of $22,562 today, and yet the rate today (exclusive of Medicare tax), is 6.2% (12.4% for the self-employed) of the first $106,800 in wages. It's called legalized robbery.
When voters finally drop this left, right bickering and start looking at the facts they are going to wake up one day and realize that we've all been bamboozled. We've been getting robbed for so long that we don't even know the difference. The following table compares today's tax rates with 1926 rates for comparable incomes.
In reviewing our current tax tables, it is apparent that a couple making $250,000 in 2010 would have been taxed at a rate of 11% in 1926, and yet the rate is now 33%. Also, those in the top tax bracket, those making over $373,650, would have had tax rates between 14% (at the low end), and 25% for the super rich, and yet the rate is now 35%. Then along comes Obama proffering to raise the top rate up to 39.6%. The problem is that the whole tax system is out of whack.
Under Obama's 'made up' theory, a couple making $250,000 should be taxed at the same rate as a couple making $5.5 million or more. Is that fair? Should a couple who makes $250,000 be taxed at the same rate as a couple making $11 million or more? Who's kidding who?
Annual income, as defined in current tax tables, needs to be appropriately adjusted for inflation. Tax rates on the other should be adjusted back towards the historical lows, not adjusted for inflation (as eventually they would exceed 100%). There is not one section of the Internal Revenue Code that has been consistently adjusted for inflation, neither the standard deduction, nor personal exemptions have kept pace. Tax brackets have been lowered and raised seemingly based on the whims of politicians, and not based on historical inflation adjusted incomes, and that's wrong. It's just plain wrong.
It's time to stop playing games with the American people, and time to start governing honestly. I'm sick and tired of rich Washington politicians, like the Obama's, trying to pretend that they're on the same level as everyone else. The Obama's are millionaires and should pay accordingly. But let's be fair about it, making $250,000 a year in 2010 is not rich, it wasn't considered rich in 1926, and it's not rich today.
What we need is real tax reform, not more of the same. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem, and unfortunately, Obama is part of the problem.

60 days! So much has been done in the last year and a half, and so much is left to do in the next 60 days!
In the first year and a half of Personhood USA’s existence, 40 states organized to fight for the pre-born child.
Some states formed steering committees to begin promoting Personhood and grow their grassroots networks. Other states introduced Personhood measures in their state legislatures. Most notably, Montana and North Dakota were able to pass Personhood measures in one chamber of their state legislatures before succumbing in the other.
In Alaska, Nevada, and Missouri, the abortion industry used the courts to prevent us from getting even one signature. However, the tighter the grip of the tyrant, the stronger the resistance to tyranny. Activists in all three states are poised for the next battle.
In California, the indomitable Pastor Walter Hoye led California’s first Personhood campaign, and gathered 600,000 signatures, and innumerable friends and allies for the next attempt.
Florida’s Personhood Amendment continues to grow towards its 2012 ballot deadline. Personhood Florida is the largest pro-life organization on Twitter, boasting over 50,000 followers.
Mississippi’s Personhood Amendment is officially on the ballot for 2011. To get on the ballot, volunteers in Mississippi broke signature records and have become one of only four amendments to make it on the ballot in the past 20 years.
This leaves Colorado. Not only is Colorado the last Personhood amendment still standing in 2010, but it is THE ONLY PRO-LIFE LAW ON THE 2010 BALLOT ANYWHERE IN THE NATION!
The eyes of the nation are upon Colorado. 2010 might very well be the perfect storm for a pro-life measure. [Alleged] President Obama’s administration has run roughshod over the American people, and 2010 will give the people an opportunity to issue a message to liberals trying to take over our nation. The strongest message would be passing the Colorado Personhood Amendment, Amendment 62, in a state that voted to elect [Alleged] President Obama. Oh how the political winds have changed!
In Colorado, there is a 20% conservative swing underway. All major conservative candidates support the Amendment, and most importantly of all, the people are fired up.
In the past two months we have distributed 110,000 educational campaign brochures, 70,000 Personhood educational magazines, 30,000 educational bookmark flyers, 13,000 bumper stickers, 10,000 stickers, 5,000 buttons, and put up five billboards including one mobile billboard.
In 60 days, so much has been done all over the nation in the last year and a half, and so much is left to do in the next 60 days in Colorado.
We have collaborated with the Human Life Alliance to distribute 250,000 additional Personhood educational magazines specifically designed and tailored for Colorado’s Amendment 62. You can see the magazine at www.humanlife.org/shesachild.php .
A network of pro-life missionaries and volunteers is activating over 1000 churches in Colorado to educate and motivate the pro-life faithful.
A state of the art website, www.MyCampaignTracker.org, is empowering individuals all across the state to manage the campaign in their own neighborhoods.
Our opposition, led by the duo of death – the ACLU and Planned Parenthood, has launched its campaign and has vowed to spend one million dollars to defeat our efforts.
