The Highest One of all
Humbly deigned to come down
As a poor and helpless mere Child
Not a wealthy king with a crown
The angels in amazement rejoiced
Yes, in wonder they hilariously sang
Heaven's glory welled up and spilled over
So that even on earth their voices rang
God's Son was willing
To carry out His Father's eternal plan
Though His own faithful mother
Didn't yet fully understand
That the road to the blessing
Ere eternal life could be gained
Was one that led, for Him, through sacrifice
Humility, suffering and pain
Death had the mastery
For that one brief moment in time
But resurrection came in the morning
In His final victory forever sublime
Our God, incarnated, became a child
He chose to walk as a mortal man
And through humility won the victory
Proved by the scars of love in His Blessed Hands
