To the People of Louisiana,
America's Independent Party Affiliates in Louisiana enthusiastically endorse the 2010 candidacy of Kristian Magar for the United States House of Representatives for the People of our beautiful 3rd District in the State of Louisiana!
Kristian believes, as does our party, that the source of our claim to “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness” is our Creator, God, as stated in the Declaration of Independence and that the rights in our Constitution depend upon those same unalienable rights. Kristian also has the moral vision to recognize that with these rights we have a duty to protect and fight for them if we are to keep them alive and “secure the Blessings of Liberty for ourselves and our Posterity” as stated in the Preamble of the Constitution. Kristian, a devoted family man and hard working, successful oilfield business manager, heard the call to defend his country and is answering that call. As he states, he “is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, social and fiscal conservative candidate” and “not a career politician”.
Kristian understands the importance of the freedoms our Constitution gives, such as religious freedom and the right to bear arms. He understands that borders must be protected and our country defended. Kristian has served in the Louisiana Army National Guard where he became an officer and obtained an education in Army values, discipline, and leadership. He understands and has seen firsthand, while working abroad, that a socialized medical system is vastly inferior to what we have enjoyed in the US. He is strongly against any private industry becoming "nationalized".
Kristian believes that the most fundamental of our unalienable God-given rights is the right to Life, and that our government has failed in protecting this right for the millions of innocent children aborted in this country. He realizes the national scandal of legalized abortion and as he states, “we must honor God’s law if we seek his blessing” and that “government’s one true purpose … defined in the Declaration of Independence ... is simply to protect our rights”.
On party status, as stated on his website, "Kristian is running in the Republican primary, but he is an independent thinker who wants voters to evaluate his candidacy based on his positions on the issues as well as his principles and values." Kristian has affiliated with the AIP party. AIP endorses candidates based on principle, not on party.
On the coastal protection and restoration issue, Kristian has listened to State Representatives from the district and a levee board official and has developed a keen insight on the problem. As stated on his web site, “I do not believe that we should have to ask the federal government for permission to protect our coastline. As your representative I will work to remove the barriers of federal bureaucracy that hinders the swift development of coastal restoration projects.”
