"As long as Property exists, it will accumulate in Individuals and Families. As long as Marriage exists, Knowledge, Property and Influence will accumulate in Families." --John Adams, letter to Thomas Jefferson, 1814
The natural family is the foundation of our civilization, with the God-given institution of marriage as its cornerstone. Take away those indispensable building blocks and the whole edifice falls down. Instead of civilization you’re left with an immoral, unorganized, unmotivated, unproductive, selfish, impoverished, starving, shivering, mob.
That’s why America’s founders stated as their ultimate purpose “to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” That’s what our Constitution is all about. It’s the purpose of government. It’s what every individual who takes the oath of office, at every level and in every branch, swears to uphold and defend.
Conservatives sometimes mock the Left for their incessant mantra of “it’s for the children.” For very good reasons, of course. The Left is obviously not sincere. Their refrain is quite evidently phony, because the destructive socialist policies they push actually harm the children, the family, marriage, and the free economics of the household.
But, just because there are counterfeits that doesn’t mean there is not the real thing as well.
Everything we do really should be for the children, and our children’s children. In the earthly sense, when all is said and done, it’s all that really matters.
But in America today we have a political class that is trying with all its might to do the exact opposite. They are steadily chipping away at that foundation. By attacking the institution of marriage they are undermining the basis for our society, our form of government, our liberty, and our economy. And, through their support for the mass murder of thousands of children every day in the abortuaries, they’re even destroying Posterity itself.
We must drive any who will not keep their oaths to defend the unalienable right to life of every innocent person, from the moment of their creation, out of public office, at every level and in every branch.
We must utterly reject any politician who refuses to support and defend marriage and the natural family, or to tries to redefine it into something it has never been, nor can be in the natural order of things.
We must attack and eliminate every government policy that has any detrimental effect on the free exercise of the economy of the household and of private property.
Secure the foundations and most everything else will be easy, comparatively-speaking.
Or, as a people, we will have to face the dire implications of the unanswered scriptural question:
“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
Go read Psalm 11, from which that verse is drawn. It’s as timely as today’s news.
And therein you will find the only answer for the salvation and survival of the country we love, the source of our national motto:
“In the LORD put I my trust…”
