You Can’t Have it Both Ways - CHARLES THOMPSON

Charles Thompson, candidate for Congress - OK-2

July 7, 2010

On Tuesday, July 6th 2010, Eric Holder filed suit against the State of Arizona citing the supremacy clause as proof that Arizona’s new law is unconstitutional. Mr. Holder would like to ‘have his cake and eat it too’ but if you wish to use one part of the Constitution you must use it all. The Supremacy Clause is found in Article VI, Clause 2 of the Constitution and reads like this.

“This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.”

It is painfully obvious that Mr. Holder, as well as the Obama administration, wish to pick and choose which part of the Constitution they like. If they are such Constitutional experts why are they ignoring Article 1, Section 8, Clause 15 and Article IV, Section 4? Having floated the idea of an executive order to grant amnesty, we all know where the Obama administration stands on illegal immigration. The president wants immigration reform like he wanted healthcare reform. In other words, who cares what the American people want, you’ll get what I (Obama) think you should get.

But, where is our representative?

Former Sergeant Major of the Army Connelly once said that being a good leader is sometimes having to tell the boss he’s wrong. So again I ask, where is Mr. Boren on illegal immigration? We have heard scant few words from him regarding the topic. Much like the healthcare debate when he knew that well over 80% of his constituents were opposed to it, he sat on his hands and did nothing other than cast a vote. (We can train a monkey to cast a vote.) Expect Mr. Boren to remain silent when the topic of immigration reform comes up as well. After all, having voted for Nancy Pelosi three times in a row, he is a puppet simply doing what he is told or what he has permission to do.

November 2010 is critical for the long term survival of the United States. Our so-called representative spends his time trying to appease his party and his constituents. We need a Constitutional Conservative to carry the torch of freedom for us, our children and our grand-children.

Let’s get rid of the puppet and the puppet master. Visit my website and vote for Charles Thompson on July 27th.
