Washington, DC – Judie Brown, president of American Life League, issued the following statement on the 90th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:
“For 90 years, women have had the right to vote, but isn’t it time we gave them the right to live long enough to cast that vote?
“Women’s groups across the country are taking note of this important day – the enactment of the 19th Amendment on August 26, 1920. Yet millions of women in America still cannot vote, because their lives end prematurely through abortion.
“In memory of those brave men and women who fought for the right of all Americans to vote, we call on every patriot to recognize the right of every preborn child to be be born.
“If we are to fully achieve the commitment to equal rights implicit in the 19th Amendment and the dedicated work of the women who brought us this victory 90 years ago, we must take the steps needed to recognize that every preborn girl and boy is a human person, and entitled to all the rights and protections of every other human person in this country.
“Let us work for the final victory of the civil rights movement – Personhood NOW!”
